Kill Alcohol Before It Kills You
It comes as a breath of fresh air — literally. Alcohol Killer USA, Inc. (AK USA) has introduced an innovative beverage with a citrus twist that has been proved to help make you sober immediately after a round (or more) of alcoholic drinks.
Consuming Alcohol Killer (AK) immediately prior to and immediately after consuming alcohol results in a significant lowering of blood alcohol concentration. It works with and not against the body to support the body’s natural detoxification process.
“In Europe, where AK was developed,” explained Ihor Koval, president of AK USA. “it is well known that AK(TM) can be consumed daily not only to hydrate and replenish, but to work naturally with the body to reduce the harsh effects of alcohol consumption, including reducing the effects of a hangover.”
“The significant lowering of breath ethanol levels that result from drinking AK is not the result of a masking effect, but is the result of AK(TM) properties that increase the amount and the speed with which alcohol is eliminated from the body,” he added.
Made in Austria, AK is the result of the combined knowledge of pharmacists, physicians, and biochemists, as well as practitioners of traditional medicine.
However, it’s important to remember that drinking AK does NOT prevent intoxication. It’s not your ‘DUI license’.
And just as the length of time required to get intoxicated depends upon each individual, the time taken by to decrease the amount of alcohol in one’s body depends upon severl factors such as age, gender, body weight, metabolism, diet, general health, and the amount of alcohol consumed.

Unique Head Protection Airbag for Convertibles Unveiled
TRW Automotive GmbH, Germany, has unveiled a new head protection system for convertibles. Located in the seat mount rather than the door trim, it’s designed to offer head protection for the unique characteristics of convertibles.

The system combines a thorax or pelvic-thorax module together with a head restraint module located in the upper seat-back.
“TRW’s head protection system for convertibles has an innovative product design with two separate airbag safety systems for both head and torso protection,” said Alexander Heilig, European engineering director for TRW Automotive’s Occupant Safety Systems. “The two systems are designed to deploy in the event of a side impact or rollover accident. They work independently to allow individual tuning of the different protection zones yet operate from common sensors.”
Both the head protection and thorax modules use a light-weight plastic housing, with the module located under the fabric and foam of the seat. The head restraint module works with a hybrid gas inflator that enables it to deploy rapidly and remain inflated for a longer duration than other traditional airbags.

20 Science Facts and My Profound Reflections on Them
1. The only fresh foods that astronauts are allowed to take into space are pecan nuts.
Is it because they’re astro-nuts?
2. There are ten human body parts that are only three letters long; eye, hip, leg, arm, toe, ear, rib, jaw, lip, and gum.
Even ‘ten’ is three letters.
3. The daily heat output of the average man would boil 30 litres of freezing water.
Add another 10 litres if he watched Jessica Alba daily.

So constant frowning is a good exercise for the facial muscles.

This may actually provide a clue to solving the puzzle - which came first, the chicken or the egg.

Not if it’s Starbucks, because no one can afford 100 cups.

So that’s why some women act fishy.

I think that should read "The average non-American walks… "

And that really explains why it’s so expensive to maintain a ‘honey’.
13. Approximately two thirds of a person’s bodyweight is water.
Really? I thought it would be Scotch whiskey.

Big deal. My ex-girlfriend would run a mile in 20 seconds if she SAW a cockroach.
17. Skydivers accelerate to terminal velocity of 120 mph. Earth’s gravity is balanced by density of the air at this speed, so they can’t go any faster.
Not if they’re politicians — their hot air decreases the density.
18. The first electronic digital computer weighed 30 tons.
My laptop still weighs 50 tons at times.
19. Concorde holds two world speed records for commercial flights. In 1992, it circled the Earth from East to West in 32 hours, 49 minutes, and 3 seconds. Three years later Concorde flew West to East in 31 hours, 27 minutes, and 49 seconds.
Looks like the crew was in a hurry to leave the West.
20. Ocean waves can travel as fast as a jet aeroplane.
Or a jet aeroplane can travel as slow as an ocean wave.
Toilet Paper Wedding Dress — What’s Next, Scotch Tape?
Obviously, everything depends on the context. Here I’m talking about a national contest for a wedding dress, which was just wiped out by a toilet paper creation.

The six wedding dress designs on show at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in New York’s Times Square stunned people into silence–it was enough to make them believe they were in someone else’s glamorous bathroom! Six dresses were displayed at the Times Square “odditorium” and three designers won a prize of a thousand dollars each.
However, the cake (not the wedding cake, neither was it made out of toilet paper) went to Katrina Chalifoux of Rockford, Illinois. Apparently, she’d spent two weeks creating a sheath dress with a raised flower pattern from molded toilet paper. I really don’t know what that means, just she won it.
So what were the tools of the trade?
“Contestants used only toilet paper, glue, and/or tape to create gowns and headpieces with ruffles, faux embroidery, pleats and even lace effects,” organizers attempted to clarify.

Well, come to think of it, isn’t toilet paper a good medium for experimenting? I mean, it’s kinda cheap, so you can afford to get carried away with your imagination, it’s safe, the little ones can play around with it, and you can even stamp on it and twist it and make a shape like an elephant or a donkey.

Exactly two weeks from now, three billion viewers will not be too far away from their TV sets: the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant will be telecast live on July 13th from the the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. But the crown the winner will wear is already drawing worldwide attention.

The crown, valued at $120,000, created by reputed Phu Nhuan Jewellery (PNJ) and designed by Rosalina Tran Lydster of Jewelry by Rosalina and Ms. Dang Thi Kim Lien of CAO Fine Jewelry, is made of 18K white and yellow gold. It has more than 1,000 precious stones; including 555 white diamonds (a total of 30 carats), 375 cognac diamonds (14 carats), 10 smoky quartz crystals (20 carats) and 19 morganite gemstones (60 carats).
The colors of the jewels have been chosen to convey special messages as well. The yellow luster of the gold stands for the prosperous thriving economy in Vietnam. White, light pink and cognac form the strategic hues which represent inspiration and feeling. The curves of inlaid gemstones represent the strong development and potential of each country, while the image of the crane symbolizes Vietnamese spirit and culture.
“The Miss Universe crown is one of the most revered pieces of jewelry in the world,” said Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization. “We are very excited to have partnered with CAO Fine Jewelry and Jewelry by Rosalina to create this year’s crown.”
