Setting the Stage for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is barely a week away, and I’m seeing some hectic online shopping for gifts for the most romantic day of the year. While fragrance and chocolates certainly top the shopping list, retailers are also reporting a good volume of sales of all kinds of sexy lingerie, from basques and bustiers to backless dresses and strikingly beautiful gowns.

Sensual costumes are preferred by many women today. My personal favorite is the bustier, available in satin masterpieces with hypnotizing intricate designs helping to lift the bust, and make a flawless hourglass figure. Bustiers are great for strapless dresses, holding the bust firmly in place.

While bustiers are looked at as a fair alternative to strapless bras, they are also considered a fine piece of lingerie. Wearing a nice satin bustier makes you feel sexy and confident; an appropriate bustier is the icing on a perfect outfit. A bustier, with shoulder straps and garter straps, will connect all of your under garments, making for a very satisfying, complete outfit. They are perfect for women who love to dress up a bit, but are also quite practical for all types of outfits because they make your waist look smaller. Many bustiers made today can also be worn as outerwear.

To have a good experience with bustiers you need to find one that fits properly. Ordering bustiers in the correct cup size is of the utmost importance, as the primary function of one is to push up the bust. If you don’t get the cup size right, you may not get the results you desire. However, if you just like the feel of a beautiful piece of lingerie, fit may not be as important, but it is still necessary to find something that is comfortable, and comfort will usually come with a correct cup size.

You can really find bustiers made out of just about any material you can imagine. Picking a bustier for a particular occasion is always great fun. Going with a velvet bustier will never be out of vogue, especially for Valentine’s. A leather or vinyl bustier can be a great addition to a costume for a fun night of partying. Some leather bustiers will come complete with leather straps allowing you to adjust the fit, and they look great with leather boots or skirts.

And there’s such a huge number of mind-blowing styles to choose from, it’s actually fun to find something that matches your personality. Some of the most stunning bustiers have backs that consist of an intricate spider web of fabric, which are usually made of luxurious velvet ropes that cover your back, pushing over your hips to connect garter straps to a pair of stunning stockings.

Choosing stockings and underwear in the same design of the bustier will make for a simply breath taking ensemble. Whatever design and style you choose, remember that bustiers are lingerie masterpieces that will make your Valentine’s Day memorable.

Fifty Million Dollar Necklace Unveiled

British jewelry firm Graff has unveiled the Lesotho Promise, a 223.5-carat necklace decked with 26 white D-flawless diamonds. It’s been tagged ‘the most important diamond necklace ever assembled’, and… I believe it.

The 224-carat Lesotho PromiseGraff says all 26 diamonds were cut from a 603-carat stone found in a mine in Lesotho in South Africa. It took one and a half years to create the Promise to perfection at the diamond-cutting facility in Antwerp, Belgium. Graff put the Lesotho Promise on display at the Salle d’Empire at the Hôtel de Paris in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The centerpiece of the necklace, the one that makes one breathless, is a 100-carat pear-shaped D-flawless diamond.

The price? Though estimated at a ‘mere’ $50 million, Graff would not reveal the asking price. The clientele? Probably Russian billionaires or oil tycoons or business magnates, but the company did say that several potential buyers have been turned down. Some proposed buying half the necklace.

Obviously, Graff isn’t interested.

“We’ll never split the stones,” said Lawrence Graff, Graff’s chairman and founder. “We’re still waiting.”

Wonder if he’ll wait until I can raise that kind of cash from Adsense?
