Opening an office? Go modular

I just can’t imagine why some people jump to the picture of cubicles at the very mention of the words ‘modular office furniture‘. ‘Modular’ does not in any way mean only cubicles — it just means modules, just like the course modules at your college. You could join up ‘modules’ of your choice and come up with the end result that you originally planned. And if you’re opening an office, that’s when the modular concept kicks in better than anywhere else.

For one thing, you have a million things on your mind, and you may not even be sure about your budget, staff, space… stuff like that. At that point, what you’d be looking for is flexibility. The ability to change things around, as and when the circumstances demand.

Modular furniture helps you do just that. Desks, filing systems, and yeah, even cubicles go just hand in hand in to create a harmonious ambiance of a well thought-out interior decoration plan. These pieces of well-designed (these days you get some great ergonomic designs) enjoy the benefit of being freestanding systems — in the sense they can be installed and reconfigured with little effort. That would be something very convenient for the budding entrepreneur — to be able to rearrange, expand or even move office.
