Do-it-yourself stuff is positively more exciting in more ways than one – its fun, it’s a learning experience, it imparts a feeling of accomplishment and perhaps you can even impress your girlfriend.
On the flip side, a lot many are so taken away by these factors that some of the safety factors invariably evade their attention. A recent report revealed that DIY is the cause behind about 20,000 eye mishaps each year – it doesn’t take much for a pair of not-so-steady hands to cause a screw head to jump out of wooden clamp and hit one right in the eyes.
It goes without saying that wearing protective glasses is the number one priority when dealing with any DIY job. Of course these are not your normal spectacles, but ones designed especially to protect the eyes from hard objects as well as exposure to heat.
