I firmly believe that ATV (all-terrain vehicle) lovers are born, not made. You either have the passion for ATV riding, or you don’t. While I can appreciate that ATV riding can into your blood, if you’re planning to buy one, then maybe you might want to consider what kind will suit you the best.
What do you want to do with it? If you plan to tow stuff around your farm or push snow, an inexpensive 4×4 might just fit the bill. On the other hand, if you’re into racing and need something that turns as quickly as you can think, you’ll be looking at some of the top racing brands such as Kawasaki or Yamaha. Now the above two are the two basic types of ATVs — the utility model and the sports model.
Then of course you also have that ATV which could drive like a jeep — and be a boat at the same time. These types are designed to carry passengers and will drive through muddy waters, and pull out and drive ahead with power, but they lack speed. Then there a number of crossovers between the utility model and the sports model, such as amphibians, so it will help a lot if you decide what you’d like to do with your ATV before making the purchase decision.
