Fat to burn
I’ve always wanted to have enough ‘money to burn’, but what I got was enough fat to burn. And then as I was getting ready to look at the various fat burners in the market, I hear that there’s something called ‘good fat’. Now, why do the scientists make it complicated?
Anyways, there’s a certain fat called ‘brown fat’ in the body that’s supposed to be not only good for you, but can also help burn calories and obesity.
However, it appears, you develop this kind of fat only when you’re young, and as you grow older, it stops developing.
While research is still going on about the ‘brown fat’, I hear that certain foods can actually help burn fat. Huh? Now, isn’ that every man’s dream?
Nutritionists and food specialists say that food items rich in vitamin C can burn fat. Makes sense to some extent — vitamin C is somewhat acidic, right? Apparently, apples, lemon, grapefruit and, of course oranges count as fat burners among fruits, and when it comes to vegetables, the list includes broccoli, celery and carrot.
Now, I have two options — I can either exercise patience and try to burn the fat in what seems to be longer, harder way, or I could jump into the celebrities’ bandwagon and pick up Lipovox, supposed to have been used globally by athletes and celebrities to get heads turning.
Well, now that summer is around the corner, and it’s gonna be the swimwear season, I’m tending to lean (pun unintended) towards the easier, softer way!
An Innovative Way to Lose Weight?
A Sussex, UK news website has just reported that Pete Cohen, life coach to the stars, is offering Haywards Heath residents the chance to ‘Sort Your Life Out’.
It’s a part of the government’s Change 4 Life plan, which encourages people to eat well and move more. The day-long event is asking people to find practical solutions to ‘everyday problems’ — meaning anything from breaking habits, conquering fears, boosting health and… you guessed it, controlling weight — or losing it.
I’m sure Change 4 Life a great concept, with plenty of benefits, but while I don’t wish to sound pessimistic, I keep my reservations about the weight loss thingie. I mean, aren’t we all living in some kind of ‘instant’ world? From instant coffee to instant cash to instant music. And about the wieght loss, aren’t a lot opting the ‘almost instant’ weight loss supplements?
After all, there are many weight-loss supplements available for those who are contemplating a healthier lifestyle and want to have some extra nutrition or want a little help along the way. Mineral supplements gained popularity over the years and are reasonably good practices and will help to give you energy and assist in the weight loss process as well.
Study: Half the World is Overweight
Alright, some might say I’m on the heavier side, but what do they do? Half the world is with me, according to a report from Nielsen’s Global Online Consumer Survey. Nielsen, which surveyed people from 52 countries, found that half of the people questioned said –or at least thought — they were overweight.
And do they like being fat? No! So obviously, they’re doing something about it. The study found that people in different areas of the world had different approaches to managing their weight.
Changing their diet was the plan of choice for 78% of those surveyed. (Only 20% thought their current diet was healthy.) Cutting down on saturated fats, sugars, alcohol and salt will definitely improve your health and help you to shed those extra pounds, while eating more fruit, vegetables and wholegrains will keep you full for longer periods of time.
About two-thirds vowed to exercise more, stating they’d work out at least once a week or more. Those in the medical profession tell us that cardiovascular exercise such as brisk walking, running, swimming or cycling burns calories, and weight-training builds muscle and helps tone the body. Besides, the US government recommends at least five 30-minute sessions of exercise per week.
Yet others have their eyes set on diet pills and bars — with emerging markets leaning more towards them than the US or European markets. Although some meal replacement products such as shakes and non-prescription pills such as Stimerex ES have reasonably good records to back them, it’s always a good habit to consult your physician before taking them.
