Is your garden hose chlorine-ready?

Just as any other technology, hoses – as innocent as they may seem – have had their share of technological advancements. The simple garden hose has evolved on a technological level, too, and the new advancements have gotten rid of several persisting problems.

It would be common knowledge to a chemistry student that moisture, when combined with chlorine can form hydrochloric acid, which, as most acids, is corrosive and can damage the inner lining of a water hose very quickly. But not unless you’re using a corrugated metal hose.

This type of hoses are lined with metal for protection against chlorine. While offering flexibility, the corrugated metal hoses also tend to have a longer service life.
